Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as Beauty Therapists specialising in nail care (nail technicians) to provide manicure and pedicure services, including the application of nail art and acrylic and gel nail enhancements.

What you will learn

These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and customer service skills where discretion and judgement are required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes client consultation on nail care products and services.

Qualification requirements: To achieve a Certificate III in Nail Technology a total of 15 units must be completed.

This course comprises: 11 core units and 5 elective units.

  • SHBBNLS005 Use electric file equipment for nail services
  • SHBBRES001 Research and apply beauty industry information
  • SHBXCCS001 Conduct salon financial transactions
  • SHBXCCS002 Provide salon services to clients
  • SHBXIND001 Comply with organisational requirements within a personal services environment
  • SHBXWSH001 Apply safe hygiene, health and work practices

1. Course durations

Duration and Delivery

■ Delivery will mainly be face to face:

Theory (Classroom)

Practical (Work Based)

■ 1200 hours to be trained and assessed as 5 hours per day for 4 days per week over 60 weeks.

2. How much does the course cost?

Course Cost $5,000,-

Payment Terms and Conditions

1st Payment $500 at the time of enrolment (non-refundable)

Balance to be paid in accordance with individual payment plan for $ 375 per month over 12 months from the commencement date of the course.Note that the RTO can collect maximum of $1500 per payment if students willing to pay more than the above payments.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements relating to this qualification, however, year 10 (or equivalent) is highly recommended. Australian College of Beauty and Nail Technology requires students to be eighteen years or older at the time of enrolment.
